Our Church History
In the early months of 1994 Pastor Tony Jarry along with a few people began holding services in their home.
Those services were the beginning stages of a work that is still growing today.
On May 18 of 1994, The Pentecostals of Phenix City became an official church plant of the United Pentecostal Church International. From the living room of their home, the church transitioned to a building in the Downtown Phenix City area. The church would remain there for the next 17 years, and during that time the church would acquire 5.4 acres in North Phenix City with a vision to build and relocate.
On April 18, 2012 the church began a transition of leadership. Pastor Jarry after 18 years stepped aside and Pastor and First Lady Knowles were voted in by the church. Pastor Knowles spent ten years prior in
Tallahassee, FL, under the tutelage of Bishop Larry Sims at Soul’s Port United Pentecostal Church.
With change of leadership, fresh vision and new-found enthusiasm, the church was ready to relocate.
The church acquired a small loan from the UPCI Loan Fund, and the building process became a reality in 2014.
The new church was built through the Alabama District, Apostolic Men’s Ministry, and other volunteers.
Pastor JB Sims led various work crews from all over the state and surrounding areas that helped in the building process.
We are so grateful for the sacrifice, the experience, and the journey from where we were, to where we are.
On June 7, 2015 we had our first service in our new building, and this is to-date our current location.
